Day 3: Vancouver to Cascade Mountains to Vernon
We had breakfast and set of leaving Vancouver making our way to Vernon. We headed out eastwards stopped of and went through many villages and towns, from Vancouver to Hope, to Merritt, to Kelowna and finally reach Vernon.
En route we travelled along the fertile Fraser Valley, then over the Cascade Mountains, then along the Okanagan Lake (home of the Ogopogo - the cousin of the Loch Ness monster)

We arrive in Vernon at around 17:00 and check in the hotel there. Village Green Hotel, 4801 27th Street, Vernon, British Columbia. As with all hotels on this tour, the porters would take the suitcases from the coach and they would send them to our rooms. We rated the hotel 3 stars as it was quite basic. We didnt have much time to get ready as we had booked the O'Keefe cattle ranch excursion.
We arrived at the ranch 20 mins or so away from the hotel, had a brief history lesson about Mr O'Keefe, looked around his home and surrounding buildings and how he made his money. Then we had dinner.. a steak from the barbeque, the steak was cooked perfectly, with a hint of barbeque sauce, by far the best steak I had in me life. Cowboy Roy was providing the entertainment for the evening, singing and lassoing.

We then retire back to the hotel for the next stage of the tour from Vernon to Banff. Some other members of the party head to the casino but we thought we catch up with some sleep.
