Day 7: Jasper
We have breakfast at the Hotel's restaurant, which seemed like a bad idea. We got there quite late, it was busy and they did not seem to have the capacity to cope with the full restaurant for breakfast. Anyhow we just ordered some fruit juice and toast and got that extremely quick, whereas others had to wait over an hour for the same and they got there before we did. Another 5 minutes down the road was another restuarant where you could have breakfast and a lot of the locals ended eating up here.
First stop of the day was the Maligne Lake cruise to Spirit Island which took about 20 minutes to get there, the whole excursion was about an hour and a half, the tour guides where extremely good telling us about the history of the glaciers etc and avalanches. We saw a bald eagle en route to Spirit Island.

After the Maligne Lake excursion we head back to the hotel and make our way to Prince George. We stop of at the base of Mount Robson and nearby is a restaurant where we have lunch. Mount Robson is the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies peaking at 12,972 feet. Unfortunately being a bit cloudy we couldn't see the peak
 Mount Robson
We resume our journey on the road, today is quite a trek to get to Prince George. Once the coach leaves the Rockies we noticed that the trees were changing colour and beginning to shed their leaves. We make several stops on our journey, one at McBride. A small cozy town and we stock up at the supermarket for water and other refreshments.

We eventually arrive at Prince George a industrial town. The population of Indigenous People seem to be higher. We check into the Ramada Hotel Downtown, 444 George Street, Prince George. The hotel has a casino, a bar and a restaurant and swimming pool. We would rate this hotel 3.5 stars. We made full use of the hotel pool and had our evening meal in the downstairs restaurant.
We went to the restuarant at a less busy time ie not peak as some people from the party went at peak time and had to wait a very long time to get their food. We ordered our food, for starters I had prawn cocktail, with a tomato salsa sauce, for the main course we had rack of ribs, the portions were massive, and tasted very good. The quality of food was quite high standard despite people moaning about their service. We certainly did not have any problems with it.
We retired back to our rooms to catch up with some sleep ready for a very early breakfast and long train journey on the Skeena Train.
